- Then add golden syrup and mix in the egg.

- Add in dry ingredients.
- Mix well to combine.

Ingredients
- 130 g salted butter melted
- 140 g light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons golden syrup
- 1 egg
- 150 g plain flour (all-purpose flour) sifted
- 100 g rolled oats
- 60 g shredded coconut (see my notes)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder sifted
- 150 g chocolate chips

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 160c.
- Grease and line a 20 cm (8") square baking tin with baking/parchment paper (leaving some overhang for removal) and set aside.
- In a large bowl mix together melted butter and light brown sugar.130 g salted butter140 g light brown sugar

- Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a silicone spatula.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden and firm to the touch.
- Allow the slice to cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then remove it and place it on a wire rack to cool then slice into squares.
