    BLT Dip

BLT Dip is an easy, creamy dip recipe that takes flavour inspiration from your favourite sandwich and combines them in dip form!

It's loaded with the classic ingredients from the BLT sandwich like fresh diced tomatoes, crispy bacon and rich mayo, then I've combined them with cream cheese and sour cream for a party dip your guests will love.

A gray bowl filled with creamy dip sprinkled with chopped tomato lettuce and bacon.

This BLT dip recipe makes a great addition to a grazing board or a simple but tasty appetizer served with crunchy crackers at your next get-together.

    How to make BLT dip

    1. Fry the bacon then allow to cool.
    2. In a bowl combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, chopped tomatoes, cooked bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon juice and salt.

Top tips for the best result

    • Removing the seeds and draining the chopped tomato on a paper towel removes any excess moisture that will make the dip watery.
    • Cool the bacon quickly by popping it in the refrigerator or freezer.

What to serve BLT dip with

BLT dip is on the thicker side so you need to keep this in mind when choosing what to serve alongside it. Choose "dippers" that are sturdy and won't break off mid-scoop! These are some of my favourites:

    • thick crackers (not wafers)
    • pita chips
    • sliced baguette (crostini)
    • bagel chips
    • tortilla chips
    • celery sticks
    • carrot sticks

    Storage

Keep this BLT dip in the fridge in an airtight container for up to three days.

If making ahead, garnish with lettuce just before serving.

    Variations

    • swap the full-fat cream cheese and sour cream for lower-fat versions
    • substitute iceberg lettuce for the romaine lettuce (known in Australia as cos lettuce)

    Additions

    • avocado (you now have the equally tasty BL-A-T variation of the BLT)
    • finely sliced green onion/shallots/spring onions

Other cold dip recipes you may enjoy

Paprika Dip - the smoky sweetness of roasted bell peppers and paprika combined with zingy feta and lemon.

Green Onion Dip - a quick and easy homemade dip idea that is also great to drizzle on baked jacket potatoes fresh from the oven.

      300 g bacon
    • Into a medium bowl add the remaining ingredients (except the lettuce) along with the cooled bacon then stir well to combine.
      225 g cream cheese
