Air Fryer Lamb Chops make a quick and easy meal, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
This recipe works equally well with lamb loin chops, lamb shoulder chops or lamb cutlets, whichever you prefer - the secret is in choosing your chops!

I recently did some renovations here at CNR headquarters (my kitchen!), and a friend loaned me an air fryer as I had no usable kitchen. It definitely came in handy, and not just for these air fryer lamb chops!
As usual, I'm a bit late to the new tech party because I like to keep things simple, but without a kitchen or oven, it saved the day! It's like having a mini oven (that's faster and easier to clean!). I've even seen air fryer recipes on MasterChef, so if it's good enough for them, I thought I'd give it a go!

Choosing your lamb chops
When choosing your chops, it comes down to thickness. For best results, you want your chops to be on the thicker side; mine were 2 - 2 ½ cm thick (¾ - 1"). This enables the outside to get nicely browned and the edges a little caramelised and crispy, while the centre remains juicy.

How to make air fryer lamb chops
- Add marinade ingredients to a bowl.
- Add lamb chops and stir to coat.

- Add chops to the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry lamb chops for 12 minutes total, flipping halfway.

Top tips for the best result
- Purchase lamb chops that are all the same thickness, approximately 2 - 2 ½ cm (¾ - 1"); this will give you the best result.
- Depending on the model of your air fryer, it may need to be preheated, and you may also need to air fry these chops in batches due to space.
- The internal temperature of cooked lamb must be at least 60°C (for rare), with medium doneness being between 65°C and 70°C when measured with a meat thermometer. Remember to insert the tip of the thermometer into the centre of the thickest part of the meat for an accurate reading. You can find more information at the Australian Lamb website.
Storage
Store any leftover lamb chops in an airtight container in the fridge. Leftovers will keep for up to 3 days.
Suggested sides
- Amp up the taste of rosemary in this lamb dish by adding a slice of rosemary butter when you serve the cutlets. It will melt into a gorgeous rosemary and garlic butter sauce.
- Serve these cutlets with my fresh mint chimichurri. Made using red wine vinegar, fresh herbs and a touch of chilli, this goes perfectly with lamb.
- Salads of choice for me would be this simple rocket salad or pumpkin couscous salad.
- Potatoes, of course! Try these crispy roast potatoes or maybe some crunchy smashed potatoes, with sour cream sauce on the side for drizzling over everything.

Notes
- You can also use lamb loin chops or shoulder chops.
- My cutlets were 2 - 2 ½ cm/¾ - 1" thick. Thinner cutlets or chops will need less cooking time.
- The cooking time assumes that your air fryer does not need preheating.
- How to tell if your lamb is done? The best way is with a meat thermometer. The internal temperature of cooked lamb needs to be at least 60°C (for rare). Medium doneness is between 65°C and 70°C.
