Gin and Ginger Ale - a zesty gin cocktail with fresh ginger and lime, then topped off with ginger ale, this is my version of a gin buck.
It's cocktail time again here at Chef Not Required HQ, and this time it's a fresh, lightly spicy Gin and Ginger Ale cocktail. Made with fresh ginger and lime, this cocktail is a zesty combination that will be a big hit with ginger fans everywhere. Traditionally, a combination of citrus and ginger ale plus a spirit is known as a "buck", so this is my version of a gin buck cocktail.
Not sure why I'm saying it's cocktail time "again" - who am I kidding - it's always cocktail time around here! My chosen tipple at the moment is gin, and I'm always up for taking one for the team and mixing up a new gin cocktail combo. What can I say? It's a tough life...

My top tips for making this recipe
- An easy way to peel a knob of fresh ginger is with a teaspoon, then cut off a few slices.
- Can't get your hands on ginger ale? Ginger beer works great too, just keep in mind that it's a stronger ginger flavour than ginger ale.
- I like to keep my gin in the fridge, this helps you achieve a super-cold, crisp cocktail.

I enjoy the taste of ginger but I haven't tried it with gin until now. This was great thank you.

Looks like a great drink but is it me or does the recipe forget to say, pour in gin?
