- Whisk together sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, chives and salt.
- Add the milk gradually until you reach your desired consistency.
Top tips for the best result
- Add the milk just a splash at a time until you get the consistency you want.
- Is the sauce too thin because you added too much milk? Add more sour cream until you are happy with the consistency again, then adjust the other spices from there.
Storage
This sauce will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream I used low fat
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh chives plus extra for garnish
- ¼ teaspoon fine salt
- 2 - 3 tablespoons milk (as needed) see my notes
