This fresh and bubbly Limoncello Spritz recipe uses just 3 simple ingredients to create a cocktail that's perfect for summer entertaining.

A limoncello spritz cocktail combines prosecco, limoncello (an Italian lemon liqueur) and soda water for a refreshingly light and citrusy drink that's not too sweet and is easy to make for a crowd.

Light yellow coloured drink in a clear glass with mint leaves and a slice of lemon.

There is no prep required for this easy drinking cocktail and it's built in the glass (or a large pitcher for a big batch of these limoncello spritzers for a party), so no need for a cocktail shaker or making sugar syrup.

    What is a spritz?

A spritz is a wine-based Italian cocktail usually made in the ratio of 3 parts prosecco to 2 parts bitter liqueur (such as Aperol or Campari) to 1 part soda water.

For our version of a spritz, we are using limoncello as the liqueur.

The term spritz comes from the German word spritzen (meaning spray or splash) referring to the splash of water in the original recipe.

Why you will love this recipe

    • No preparation - just pour and drink!
    • Easy to scale up using the same ratio.
    • Citrusy and not overly sweet.
