Pesto Garlic Bread

Pesto garlic bread is a great way to put a fun new twist on your traditional garlic bread side dish.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons salted butter softened
  • 3 tablespoons basil pesto
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • ¼ teaspoon cooking salt
  • 1 loaf pane di casa bread 28cm x 12cm approx
  • 2 tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180℃.
  • To a small bowl, add softened butter, basil pesto and salt, then stir well to combine.
    3 tablespoons salted butter, 3 tablespoons basil pesto, ¼ teaspoon cooking salt, 2 garlic cloves
  • Using a sharp serrated knife, slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise.

  • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  • Sprinkle both halves with parmesan, place on a baking sheet (cut side up) and bake for 10 minutes.
    2 tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Feel free to up the amount of garlic if you like, I go with 2 cloves because there is already garlic in the basil pesto.
  • Line the baking tray/sheet with aluminium foil or parchment paper if you like for easy cleanup.
