Ingredients

  • 60 ml gin I used Gordons
  • 30 ml Cointreau
  • 30 ml fresh lime juice
  • 300 ml tonic I used diet
  • ice
  • lime wheels to garnish optional
  • salt to rim glass optional

Instructions

  • Salt the rim of the glass (optional) see instructions in post above.
  • Place ice in glass, then pour in gin (60ml/2oz), Cointreau (30ml/1oz) and fresh lime juice (30ml/1oz).
  • Give everything a little swirl in the glass to mix, then top with tonic.
  • Garnish with lime wheel if using.

Notes

  • To be honest, for this cocktail I just chuck everything in the glass and give it a bit of a swirl then add the tonic and drink! You could get all fancy and shake it up in a cocktail shaker if you have one (I don't).
  • No Cointreau? Use Triple Sec or Grand Marnier instead.
  • I have garnished these drinks with a slice of lime on the glass itself as well as a lime wheel on the rim.
  • You can get super fancy and salt the rims of the glasses. I have included instructions for this in the post above.
  • I also like a really cold cocktail, so I like to chill the gin too.
